Advisor to the Prime-Minister of the Hellenic Republic on macroeconomic, fiscal, banking and debt-management issues

Mr. Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, an Italian citizen, has been appointed advisor to the Prime Minister on macroeconomic, fiscal, banking and debt-management issues.  He will advise the Prime Minister on aspects relating to the implementation of the Greek economic policy programme drawing on his global understanding of the complex nexus of the institutional and financial features it entails coupled with significant experience as a policy maker at the highest international level.

Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa was Italian Minister of Economy and Finance (2006-08) and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee of the International Monetay Fund (IMFC, 2007-2008). He is now President of Notre Europe, Chairman for Europe of Promontory Financial Group and member of the Group of Thirty. .
